Through The Looking Glass

We're no strangers to email humour around my house, most of it too miserable to be repeated.  But this one story arrived the other day that was too perfect not to pass on.

A woman looking for a dentist was referred along to a new doctor.  As it happened, he shared the same name as one of her former classmates, the handsome, young captain of the basketball team.  She couldn't help looking forward to meeting him, beyond being curious to know how he had turned out.

Some days later, the woman arrived for her appointment and was promptly ushered into a treatment room.  Disappointment greeted her in the form of a fat, bald, wrinkled old man in a lab coat.  But many years had passed, she knew, so she decided to question him anyway.  Was he really the young man who had graduated from her high school in 1981?

"Why yes;" he answered I graduated in 1981.  Best years of my life!"

"Then you were in my class," replied the woman, surprised.

"Really," answered the dentist, equally stunned.  "What subject did you teach?"
